Hey Guys,
It’s been a while since I wrote to you on my blog and I have something I need to get off of my chest.
I’m on a lot of marketer’s lists so I see just about everything that comes out that has anything to do with internet marketing, online marketing, working from home or whatever you want to call it.
Just in the last few weeks I’ve seen a bunch of people, some are my friends, promote some new “Get Paid To Take Surveys” product that was listed in Clickbank.
Now, I’m not even going to give you the link because I just can’t bring myself to do that to you.
If you are serious about making any type of steady income online, then paid surveys is THE ABSOLUTE LAST thing you should EVER want to do.
I’ve been down that route.
When I was a complete newbie, I stumbled onto paid surveys. I paid like $34.95 or something to Clickbank ( i didn’t even know what Clickbank was at the time ) just to get access to a directory of all of these different sites that let you take surveys and supposedly pay you.
Long story short, I made a few bucks here and there, but was definitely a total waste of time.
First of all, a lot of times you have to take a survey to see if you even qualify to take the survey that will pay you in the first place!!
Then, more than half the time you won’t even qualify to take the damn survey. Talk about a waste of 15 - 30 minutes of your life.
Multiply that by however many surveys you try to take or you take to make 1 measly dollar a pop and you tell me if it was worth it.
Seriously, I never rant about products on my blog, but I’m trying to protect you.
The testimonials are probably glowing, but I’ll bet money that they are fabricated bullshit.
I haven’t met 1 person in my 3+ years of marketing online that actually made a full time living or anything respectable worth even talking about by taking surveys. What a joke!!
And I know a lot of people in this business.
So buyer beware.
If you’re willing to waste your time and energy taking surveys for peanuts, if anything, why don’t you channel that energy into building something more worthwhile and more importantly, PROFITABLE!
Like a list!!
All The Best,
Jason

I could have written the above myself. Some of the surveys are Loooooong, boring, tiring, and the repeat questions are laughable. I just about gave it all up. Their videos sounds marvelous, but I have never won back my $34.95 I paid to start up. And oh, yes, I don’t qualify for most of the surveys anyway!

Yo Jason…I can’t remember if I dropped a comment last time I stopped by and enjoyed one of your articles…these are some very wise words above, I already bookmarked your blog before I think… will check though cos it’s cool reading…

Hi Jason,
I always thought that about those surveys. And I’ve never met anyone who has made ANY money from surveys.
What about Millionaire League and Liberty League? They look good.
Would love to know your opinion…
Thanks… Dave

Jason…I respect you for pointing this out. I know for some affliiate marketers, they shun their answers when they are asked to talk about their opinions about paid surveys. To say the least, the biz model of paid survey is begging questions.
Newcomer shoold try to avoid some common traps, and do the right things.
Thanks again.

Hey Jason,
Ditto 100% and kudos to you for
posting this.
A while ago, I spent days signing
up for and trying to qualify for tons
of surveys, and “waste of time” was
an understatement.
I got my check for $5.00 after
spending countless hours with this,
and thought “there’s got to be a
better way”.
So thanks for speaking out and
giving the real story.

I just recently was prompted to try this just to see (you hear a lot about these paid surveys). I saw an ad on Facebook. Clicked, inputted one of my emails and bam - got an unimaginable amount of email, $0, and a lot of wasted time.

You took the words right out of my pottymouth
I completely agree!
You can spend as much time creating a good quality information product and sell it for $97 for months or years to come.
What pisses me off is the marketers who promote this to stay at home moms or “noobs” who don’t know any better when the marketers themselves know that it’s nothing but crap.
There is one survey company that I joined (a friend invited me) but only because they actually send me cool stuff that isn’t out on the market yet. They pay $5 a survey but I don’t care about that. I like eating the chocolate bars and drinking the juice they send me haha. You can’t sign up for them either. You have to be invited.
Either way though, paid surveys = COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND INTELLIGENCE.

There is a lot of this kind of marketing going on on the web. These people who promote these scams have only one intergrity and that is get the money. I find this to be ashame as there are so many legitimate ways to make money online without duping the customer. This kind of thing only makes life harder for the legitimate internet service provider who wants the best for his or her client.

My first experience with Surveys was a bitter one with a scam site called A.W. Surveys. I had made so many referrals that i felt guilty having promoted it at all. Now before joining any program i do a search on the program in the net and join only if i see positive respones.
Nice article, keep it up!

Wow! A crock of sh7t….. I tried surveys as a newbie. Being a married, 34 year old, white, male was not a good match for anything. I guess that is the learning curve though..get burnt..get burnt..find something that works…and stay with it until the wheels fall off. I learned a lot about the wrong ways to market programs.
I have not marketed a clickbank product in almost a year because most of them are a crock of sh7t. Repackaged information that you can find anywhere on the web for free if you are looking for it.
Thanks for the post and you are 100% right about the surveys…THEY SUCK IT!

Boy Jason you really hit it on the head! I went down the same “route” but never even made a thin dime. Surveys are a total waste of time and energy! Have a great day! Blessings!

Hi Jason
Thanks for voicing your opinion. I read it just in time. Was about to venture into surveys after looking all round for some source of income online. Great job.

Thank you for posting about paid surveys. I almost think it will be my other income, but i buried that thought after reading your posting and comments.

Jason,
From all the comments I’d say you hit a “hot button”. Thanks for being so direct about these surveys as it’s something I believe folks need to hear before they spend their money and/or waste their time. I could have said much the same about my experience sometime back, but I suppose I didn’t want to admit I could fall for such a thing.
