I just recently brought on an apprentice to help me grow my business, and working with him one-on-one has made me realize just how much I take for granted when it comes to the technical side of internet marketing.
Stuff that, to me, is super easy…Stuff I can do half asleep.
But the stuff I find easy is the same stuff that scares the crap out of so many other people. I’d say more than 90% of the people that “try” to make money online fall into this category.
And it’s also what keeps them from moving forward.
For example… Installing A Wordpress Blog
A lot of people know how to do this, but I bet for every 1 person who does, there are at least 100 who don’t.
My apprentice is one of them. And you may not know how to either.
So what I decided to do as I teach him is to record screen capture videos of me doing whatever it is I am showing him how to do so he can reference it whenever he needs to instead of me having to show him every time.
And that’s when it hit me…
If I have to teach him, and he’s only 1 of tens, hundreds, thousands, even TENS of thousands of people who need to learn these internet marketing tasks, then why not make these videos for everyone — including YOU.

Just got back from Yanik Silver’s Underground Online Seminar in swampy Washington, D.C.
It certainly was a blast and it’s amazing how many AWESOME people have online businesses…
…Extremely successful online businesses.
I couldn’t believe how many people I saw raise their hands when one of the speakers asked who was making $100,000 per month or more.
I saw at least 40 or 50 hands. Definitely inspiring.
Plus, internet marketers are a different breed of people and if you haven’t gotten out to one of these offline events, you really NEED TO make it a point to go to one.
I’ve met so many super cool and down to earth marketers that make A LOT of money.
And it’s always fun to match the name, email address, or instant messenger username with the actual face of someone you’ve known virtually. (that’s always my favorite)
Not only do you get to meet other like minded people, but you never know who you’re standing next to having a conversation with that can give you a real gem of wisdom and inspiration to take your business to the next level.
I encourage you to do whatever you have to do to get out to one of these events.
Go to one and you will realize with your very own eyes that
YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND NOT CRAZY!! LOL

It’s been a while since I wrote to you on my blog and I have something I need to get off of my chest.
I’m on a lot of marketer’s lists so I see just about everything that comes out that has anything to do with internet marketing, online marketing, working from home or whatever you want to call it.
Just in the last few weeks I’ve seen a bunch of people, some are my friends, promote some new “Get Paid To Take Surveys” product that was listed in Clickbank.
Now, I’m not even going to give you the link because I just can’t bring myself to do that to you.
If you are serious about making any type of steady income online, then paid surveys is THE ABSOLUTE LAST thing you should EVER want to do.
I’ve been down that route.
When I was a complete newbie, I stumbled onto paid surveys. I paid like $34.95 or something to Clickbank ( i didn’t even know what Clickbank was at the time ) just to get access to a directory of all of these different sites that let you take surveys and supposedly pay you.
Long story short, I made a few bucks here and there, but was definitely a total waste of time.
First of all, a lot of times you have to take a survey to see if you even qualify to take the survey that will pay you in the first place!!
Then, more than half the time you won’t even qualify to take the damn survey. Talk about a waste of 15 – 30 minutes of your life.
Multiply that by however many surveys you try to take or you take to make 1 measly dollar a pop and you tell me if it was worth it.
Seriously, I never rant about products on my blog, but I’m trying to protect you.
The testimonials are probably glowing, but I’ll bet money that they are fabricated bullshit.
I haven’t met 1 person in my 3+ years of marketing online that actually made a full time living or anything respectable worth even talking about by taking surveys. What a joke!!
And I know a lot of people in this business.
So buyer beware.
If you’re willing to waste your time and energy taking surveys for peanuts, if anything, why don’t you channel that energy into building something more worthwhile and more importantly, PROFITABLE!
Listen, I’m not going to bore you with the typical rah rah stuff you may already be accustomed to hearing with regards to making and keeping any New Years’ resolutions that you may have.
All I ask of you is that you do just a little more this year than what you did last year.
Now the question you may be asking me is,
“A little more of what Jay?”
The answer to this question really depends on how much you did in 2007.
Did you do anything to make money using this super power we call the internet?
Because one thing I know is that I did a little more in 2007 than I did in 2006 and I doubled my online income.
One thing I can tell you is that there are hundreds, if not thousands of ways to generate income with an online business.
Maybe you just need a few hundred extra dollars per month to cover some bills.
Maybe you want to make a few thousand a month, or even 6 figures online this year.
All of it is possible, but are you willing to do more in 2008 than you did in 2007?
Forget about resolutions.
To me, the first few days of the new year are more of a time to reflect on the past 365 days.
So many products have come out in the past year that teach so many different ways to produce income online, it’s just a matter of you choosing one of these methods and making it work for you.
That’s the thing.
You have to choose one and run with it.
Also, choose a mentor that you can follow.
Find someone in this business that you can identify with and study every move they make, invest in their products, and do your best to emulate them.
I found a mentor over 2 years ago and it has made all the difference.
And once you have decided on one method to focus on, put on your blinders and do a little more this year than you did last year.
Sure, great products are going to come out this year. I’m certain of it.
I’ll be releasing 2 or 3 or 4 of my own.
Maybe I’m shooting myself in the foot for telling you this, but I feel like I must.
Some of these new products may be good for you, even great.
Some won’t.
Some will end up being more of a distraction than anything, but you’ll have to make that evaluation when the time comes.
My advice is that you only invest in those products that you need and will be able to use to move forward in your business based on your existing plan of action.
The 3 things I recommend you focus on is traffic, list generation, and copywriting.
Copywriting may be the most important of the three because the better you get at writing compelling ad copy, the more quality traffic you will get and the more people will want to opt in to get whatever it is you are offering to build your list.
So, my resolution is to do my best to give you some solid, from the heart advice on marketing based on my experience as well as recommend ONLY quality products to you that I truly believe can help you.
Do more this year!! But do more of the right things

However, you really should be taking some time to start blogging in addition to any other business building activities you may already be doing.
It can be extremely profitable for you.

But I could be mistaken and I don’t mean to insult you at all.
It’s just that I can’t bare to see you continue to go down this path.
Especially with what I know you are capable of and what this business can do for you financially.
I’m not a genius by any stretch of the imagination.
And believe me, I’ve been there.
I used to work 2 crappy jobs, 7 days a week, for 55-60 hours each and every week.
Between what that made me and what my girl was making at her job, we still didn’t have 2 pennies to rub together and barely were able to pay the rent each month.
But even though I’m not a genius, I was smart enough to reach out to someone that was doing better at what I was trying to do well in.
And that made all the difference.
I asked for help.
Not for a handout, but just for some advice.
And when I was told to do one thing, I did it and asked what to do next.
Each time that happened, I started making more money and understanding a little more of why I was experiencing certain results when I did what I was told to do.
What’s even more exciting is that the person that taught me was right on point with everything he said would happen to me and my business if I did what he said.
He said if I did _______, I would be making $______ by _______ .
I hit those marks just as he said I would, give or take a month or 2 and a few dollars.
Now, don’t worry about what those blanks are supposed to say because it doesn’t really matter.
All you need to know is that because I did what he said, I now enjoy a full time income online, my fiance stays home with our 14 month old and our 2 month old instead of
working and shipping them off to daycare.
And boy does she love me for giving her the opportunity to choose to stay home

This is one of those rare chances for you to be a part of something special and to really start making the type of money you hear others proudly speak about.
Maybe you just want a few hundred extra per month to cover the utilities so you can sleep at night.
Maybe you want to completely match your job’s income so you can either now make double or you can QUIT!!!
But, either way, hopefully I struck a cord with you and have motivated you enough to want IT, whatever IT may be for you.
